Is it time to reach out for help?
Updated: Jul 11, 2019
Although it is becoming more widely accepted to see a therapist or a counsellor, it still takes a leap of courage to contact a professional for help. Thoughts may go through your head of, "What am I going to say the first time I meet this person?" or, "What are they going to think of me?" Friends or family members may open up about a counsellor they have seen in the past, but to admit that you need help takes a leap of faith.
I am always blown away by the courage my clients show when they arrive in my office both the first time and for each subsequent session. It is not always easy to be authentic about the difficult moments you have walked through in your life, or the trials you are enduring in the present day. It is my utmost pleasure to get a glimpse of the resilience and courage that people exhibit each day of their lives as they overcome many challenges.
If you are thinking about talking to someone but are hesitating for any reason, please take the step and reach out. I can't wait to connect with you and hear your story.
